I believe in the Occupy movement. I would like to believe in Occupy Long Beach, but you keep doing utterly stupid things that do not advance the cause.
Instead of posting this, why are you not posting the nurses’s issues and the reasons for the walk out. That would be helpful and informative.
The die-in makes you look ridiculous and as if you were just acting out without a purpose. State the facts. That is what reaches people. People need information to know you have a legitimate cause.
I was a 1960′s Viet Nam War protestor and a grape boycotter. We had informed purpose in most of what we did.
Please start acting more effectively. If you are going to have a demonstration, be sure you are giving information along with the drama. The drama is great for attention, but then you have to use that attention to inform. Occupy Long Beach always seems to forget that part.
What are your specific issues? You go to the city council to protest the treatment you receive. Do you go to them with issues that affect our city like affordable housing and good paying jobs? If you have, I have not seen it.
Please focus on issues because you are losing people who might support your causes by not broadcasting more clearly just exactly what you stand for.
